When you neglect your tank, you get a dkH just over 6 , glad I got the old B-Ionic. Plan on BRS in the near future, possibly the drew's dosing pumps. Leaning more towards dosing, than Calc Reactor and other.
I was the same way, I neglected basic things like testing and water changes for a long time, and my tank went south. My sps faded, hair algae took over the tank, and nothing grew. I got serious and started testing, doing weekly wc and changed my feeding regimen. As a result my sps started growing, hair algae went away and everything is coloring up again. I discovered that I had low alk and ph. Now that my garage is freezing and it's near impossible to get my water up to temp I've slacked on the changes, and my hair algae is starting to come back. Keep up with it and you'll get results.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm really looking forward to getting a good schedule going, and sticking with it. Don't have many sps but I did loose one completely, was able to save two by fragging.
