New Reef Tank Update - 9/2010

Rate this Entry
So I have not updated for quite awhile, so I wanted to give a few picts, and description.

Building a 120gal Mixed Reef...And now we have water, and rock. Still need to finish the return pump plumbing, but getting there. We were hoping to have it done this weekend, but we are waiting for 1 piece of plumbing to get here, probably Tues or Wed. Had to order a pvc union, in order to connect the pump.
I realize that there are lots of things in these pics, like the heaters, and probes and a powerhead, but most of those will be removed eventually, as soon as we have water running through the sump.

End of the tank. This is the angle that willbe first viewed, as it is right in the front door:

Aquascape with no lights. there is one piece of LR in the front left that will be removed after we get the cycle started, and 1 piece up on top to the right, to be removed as well:

Cabinet in the Garage. We will be ading a skin to the cabinet, but wanted to wait for a while to be comfortable with the equipment placement and maintaining it on an everyday basis:

Drain in the Sump. There will be a sock and LR in this section, but you can see we had a little bit drain out of the tank when filling it up last night:

So, we built the cabinet in the garage, plumbed the drain, and set up the aquascape. We are making our own Salt Water, and already have a refugium started with LR, sand and chaeto growing already.

Let us know what you think!
