Is that a NP reactor I see there? I'm getting one for my 400g! Nice to see water in that system and pumps that don't leak. LOL Good times, right? That light rack system looks awesome. I'd like to do the same, but roll it lengthwise rather than off tank.

Nice! What size cfm is your vent fan? Just got my in-wall setup running and really need a vent fan.

hey drum, i had been following your build over on RC for a while. glad that you have combated the algae well, and good to have you over here!

Ditto on the awesome build thread. Will you be seeking a substantial coralline look or keep the rock looking like it does now? I have a lot of purple coralline covering everything most likely due to calcium levels on the high side, 500ppm. Still learning the chemistry balancing act.

Marc - Yes that's a NextReef SMR1 pellet reactor. I'm running 1 Liter of Warner Marine ecoBAK pellets currently. I'm into week three and already seeing progress. Better, more consistent skimmate and the tank and sump look cleaner. NO3 and PO4 are both testing 000's. As of now I can't recommend it more. I really had high hopes for this type of bio filtration and it's living up to it's expectations already. The pic of the sump shows 3 reactors - ecoBAK, GAC and GFO. I took the GFO off-line now that I'm running the ecoBAK so it's just pellets and ROX 0.8 Carbon at this point. Oh, I'm still learning how to post here so let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Blown76mav - It's a Panasonic 80 cfm DC motor fan. Extremely inexpensive to run because of the DC motor is is rated for continuous use which is nice in these kinds of situations. I have it controlled off a Ranco de-humidistat.

agsansoo - I run 3x 250 Radiums on Galaxy Select-A-Watt Ballasts. Yep, running 1 Liter of ecoBAK. See above response about the ecoBAK reactor.

reeforcd - I'm sure the coralline will come, it's unavoidable. I personally can't stand it but wouldn't mind a little more color on the rocks. Now if I could only invent a way to keep it off the glass..... Haha.

I had a 40g reef for over 10 years. It was a mixed reef - softies, lps, and sps. This tank is relatively new so I've been going through a couple algae cycles to get to where I am today. In the next couple weeks the stocking begins.

what size pump do you have feeding those 3 reactors?

The system pump is a Reeflo Dart. Here are some pics showing the return manifold (as I was building it) and electrical panel that now sits above the Dart.
