Then next addiction was Google Sketchup.

So, I couldn't cut into the wall and start building, but I could plan it out for the next few weeks. I had pictures from then they built my house, and I started to lay it out in autocad, but then I found out about google sketchup. Its a free 3d modeling program that I started to get into. I was able to measure stuff, model the wall studs, niche, and then my equipment. I started building it in sketchup, and postitioned things so that I could ensure that they would fit. I have modeled the sump (with mangrove plants in it), the skimmer, and the fluval 205. I have also modeled a nice 8 rocker switch power strip thing that should clean up the rat's nest of wires. I modeled the hex tank in the art niche and figured out that it would be a lot better if it was raised about a foot or so. This could make a nice place for a drawer to keep all of my fish junk in it. Test kits, food, and the like.

Check them out.

Your sketchup skills are impressive! I use it all the time, but never went to the trouble of recreating a fluval!
