I had a special request for a large container to hold top off water for the 199-gallon sump I built. The customer requested two quotes, one for 1/4" material and one for 3/8" material. In the end, 1/4" was selected although 3/8" would have been the better choice.

Also, I had a special order for a fan bracket for a sump I'd already built. The fans are 4 3/4" square, but the power plug required one direction to be 5" wide.

It was a perfect fit and just needs to be wired up to some power.

If the fans create vibration noise, four rubber feet will be glued to the corners of the fan to dampen it away. These are found at Home Depot and are often sold to silence cabinet doors that slam against their wood frame.

    I'm curious why they would want the opening so large for a top off reservoir?

    any chance you can post pictures of how you built that top off cotainer i would like to try and build my own but im afrad it will end up leaking

    How do you know how thicl the accrilic should be ?

    The fan tray works great the fans make zero noise cant even be heard and create a nice ripple in the sump and can cool the tank down 1 degree in less than about 5-10 mins run time. Thanks Marc

    those fans are "sunon" brand. (from what i saw)
    those are the quietest 110-115V fans i have found....
    Great job there Marc. (do you mind sharing the size of your ATO container)

    I asked what the customer wanted and made it accordingly. I didn't know if it needed a top, but was told not to make one. Without knowing exactly how it would be used, the opening was large enough to do most tasks from any direction.

    The container is 23 3/4" x 23 3/4" x 16". It holds about 36g using internal measurements, but I have a feeling it is going to deflect on all four walls considerably. 3/8" is what he should have used. It's the thickness I used for my own ATO that holds 45g of RO/DI water.

    Yes they are sunon brand sold by grainger I have a whole case of them so I thought I put them to use.
