I received my Avast Marine Works K1 "You Build" Kalkwasser Stirrer today and it definitely has more pieces than the Avast Marine Works MR5 "You Build" Media Reactor which meant more fun! It took me about 2 hours to put it together since there is more time required for the glue to dry accordingly (I also made a mistake of not aligning the Motor Chamber Wire director in front of the Probe Holder which made for an extremely snug fit for the exiting wires which I could correct because the glue had already settle before I noticed). But as always the Avast Marine Works equipment did not disappoint. The build quality is amazing (I built it, LOL) and pretty straight forward. I definitely would recommend this over any Kalkwasser Stirrer on the market for overall ease of construction, build quality, price point and customer service provided by Justin of Avast Marine Works! Unfortunately one sticker was damaged in transit but Justin is sending a replacement which is why you don't see the logo on the unit in my photographs.

So as per the instructions in the manual I decided to rewire the motor as instructed this morning. It didn't take to long at all and it looks so much better now!

    Just thought I'd chime in and say great choice! Justin is actually a good friend of mine (I'm local to him) and his products are the perfect mix of DIY with professional grade parts, design, instructions and customer support.

    Everything looks great! You'll love their media reactors, they're really nice for biopellets if you don't want to spend the $$$ for a NextReef SMR1. Whats in the other reactor? It looks like sand?

    Looks good. I see what you mean about the wires aiming in the wrong direction. That would bug me.

    I definitely agree and I cannot begin to describe how please I am with the products so far. Also you are correct, one of the Avast Marine Work MR5 "You Build" Media Reactors are filled with sand because I'm making it a fluidized sand bed filter.

    It was definitely bugging me before because I am a bit OCD like that. But after I took the Motor Housing apart again and rewired the unit it actually looks a lot better. Although I wish I could move the hole to another direction but Solvent says no!

    If you really can't stand it, drill a new hole and move the grommet to that spot, and fill the old hole with silicone or some type of 2-part epoxy resin.

    It's not honestly that bad any more since I rewired the unit correctly. But I think making a second hole and having an area with a different shade of color from the filler would bug me more.
