Proof of Life

Rate this Entry
Been getting a lot of work done lately. Most recently I've been transferring corals over. Here is a shot I took today while experimenting with white balance. It's not quite this warm in color in real life, but this was a very clear picture that provides a lot of detail, so I thought I'd share.

And a couple other shots. This is from the right side looking left (from inside the wet room). This one is a little more realistic, but probably a bit more blue than the 20kK radiums make the tank.

And an angled shot from a few days ago to show off the "raceways" that the rocks create.

I also figured out the Apex today and configured the variable ramp to dim the LEDs on and off. That stuff is pretty slick. Now I just need some fish.

Where did you get the rock???
It looks pretty clean, and neat. Nice specimens to build with.
    Thanks, Aaron

It's marco rock, for the most part. I've had it in the sump I built curing for over 9 months, so i'm relatively confident in it's ability to handle the bioload this early. It hasnt ever been under light, though, so we'll see how it colors up (there could be some phases before coralline really sets in).

As im sure you know, adding trace elements can speed up the growth of coralline, but very beautiful rock! I wish I had gone with the type instead of the premium Fiji.
