Low Tide

Every Saturday I do my weekly maintenance on my tank. I thought I would share some photos. Tank is a 65 gallon. I change out 10 gallons per week, never missing a water change in 3 1/2 years.
Current salt of choice is Tropic Marin Bio-Actif.

    Again, your tank is so beautiful! The SPS probably loos forward to their weekly basting in the sun! ;-p

    How long are the tips exposed like that? 3.5 years of weekly 10g water changes? You're the kind of guy Scott Fellman likes! I'm not a water change addict like you, but I do them from time to time.

    The corals are only exposed from 10-15 minutes. I only do the water changes with my actinic lights on usually. This week I was running late and the MH's just came on, so out came the camera.

    I also need a tank upgrade too ! My monti-cap has grown into the front glass, which makes cleaning the glass impossible.

    Yes, I wanted to say that - so thanks for saying it for me. You're going to have to address that situation because it's an eye sore and will later be problematic because it shades everything beneath it. Perhaps you need to relocate it to a better spot and let it grow anew.

    I do the same with my tank every night when I feed my reef. A few of my corals have their tips exposed for 15 to 30 minutes.

    SPS corals in Figi (I think I Spelled that right) tops are exposed for low tide each day for awhile. I seen on YouTube someone show that; hmmm beautiful, I would want to get some colonies and bbrind them home. Shoot, hmmm, I wonder if my wife would want to move their?!!!...LOL. Washingtond on this site had the same problem with overgrowth of corals. He fragged his Monti. Look back for his post. But it's nice to take the upgrade route. ;-p.

    By the way, ya tank is looking AWESOME! ;-)
