Hey Matt, thanks!! haha when my daughter help me with my tank I always say be careful that's my favorite piece. Lol...I say it for every piece.. Hhahaa. Thanks MidNight!! I wish that an upgrade was possible, but it's not. I have a condo with limited space. The only uPgrad possible would be a 90.
Wow Henry, your tank is looking awesome. pretty soon you are gonna need the specs from Marc's tank for an upgrade.
Wow man! You have some gorgeous corals! I love the favia (row two, pic on the left) the acans, the open brains (especially the red one!) and your chalice. Sweet tank. :-)
Yes, you can.
Thanks for all the info Marc! I've been waiting to hear something on my post so I can decide on what to buy. So, I can still do the two part dose right?
When running biopellets, you need to keep your alkalinity under 10 dKH. I aim for 8-9 so I don't run the risk of burnt SPS tips. It's happened twice, but by measuring alkalinity often (twice a week), you can avoid that from happening. If it does rise and the tips burn, you simply stop dosing alkalinity for a couple of days to let it come down naturally again, and the corals will heal over. It's just wasted time watching corals grow back over what was alive until recently because you allowed the dKH to rise too high. Keep the effluent of the reactor going into your skimmer's intake. That's best. I've had a brown dust on my sandbed for most of the 5 months I've run biopellets, but it lifts up gently when you run a scraper across the surface, allowing it to be exported via sock or skimmer. I recently added 25 nassarius to help keep the sand tilled, and it seems to be helping somewhat. You will still need to dose Alk and Ca, as well as Mg. You shouldn't need to use GFO any longer. You'll be able to feed more, without fear of polluting your tank. You may want to dose some bacteria, like Microbacter 7. I've dosed it twice, and need to do it again this weekend. I usually forget.

Somehow, someway, you guys are going to have to take the time to share your tanks. Trust me, there are silent readers out there that enjoy seeing what you are showcasing, so make the effort.
Yeahhh! Jessy??? And, all the rest of the reefers here.
You'd think Jessy would post a latest picture, right?
