I'm adding rock on the right hand side stacked all the way up the side of the tank; then I have two pieces that are cut thin and flat that I'm attaching to the back wall. All the rocks have already been drilled for frag plugs and are curing right now. Once my cycle is done I'll add that rock and the new SPS pieces which are: Bright Blue acro Green polyped birds nest Blueberry snowflake acro (white base, light blue tips) Pink procillapora Orange digitata At that point... I'll be so full it will be near impossible to add anything else. Towards the bottom of the rockwall I have a war coral and a favia to add, and I still have a few zoas to place that'll cover any remaining visible rock once it all grows in. haha.
Lol yeah! My tank feels real full. Yesterday my daughter came over to help redo rockwork. I bought more liverock over the weekend to get what I believe the final look I want.
It won't seem as full when I find a mushroom bomb that kills all mushrooms! lol. Yeah, it is pretty full. Im adding 5 more sps pieces in a few days too. Luckily, Im also adding rock. :-)
Matt, love ya tank! doesn't feel at times ya starting to run out of room? You have an awesome selection of corals; wish I had the choices of corals. It's going tO look real nice when grown out! Marc, Awsome!! Your DT is fast progressing to a beautiful reef. That frag tank will be q trend starter I believe, very unique!
Yeah... I love mine. I run all white for 2 hours, White & Blues for 8 hours, then blues only for 2 hours at the end. However... my white only is on during the day when I'm at work, so I don't get to see it often.
That's the beauty of turning off one or the other. When all of the LEDs are on, you don't think it is 14,000K. Well, turn off the whites and suddenly it is truly 20,000K (or more - hehe). Then turn on the whites and turn off the blues, and it feels like 6500K or so. Then flip on the blues as well, and it ends up looking 14,000K. Couple all those colors with the lights over my reef and you can quickly see how the eye is tricked into believing the color spectrum is quite different at first.
Ah ha! I thought it looked like it, but I knew they didn't have one that was that white... I didn't even consider the blues being off. :-)
The light is the 14,000K Evolution LED fixture from our sponsor Reefkoi. I took the picture with the blue LEDs off.
The tank looks amazing! What kind of light is that over the surprise? Congrats on finding some booty...it seems to be rare these days.
Here's today's Full Tank Shot for May. And the surprise I promised: That's right, the new frag tank is online at last!
Slightly lower quality pics than I usually put out. I was in a hurry so this is without cleaning any glass (not even the front), snapping pics and I assumed my settings were still the same from the last time I took pictures. Forgot we had a birthday party in between now and then and took pics outside. My wife was even in the kitchen cooking with the over counter lights on so I've got wicked glare too. Just really terrible! lol! So... 10 seconds of editing to get them looking as realistic as possible... and here's the results. My fts for May plus one little bonus that I snapped... a pic of my pink birdsnest where my clown happened to jump in the corner. :-) Pink Birdsnest Full LED (should be MUCH brighter. A result of the settings being prepared for outside shooting.) Once agian... too dark. But here's the Blue LEDs
I posted my pics!
Can't wait Marc!! I just sent some pics to my computer, will put up today.
I'll have a new picture to add myself tomorrow, and a surprise.
Matt, can't wait to see ya pic!!
Gist, your tank is beautiful! I love the look of cubes.
Here is the Cube of Fun FTS for May
Looks like I have a little homework tonight!
Wow! Has it really already been another month!? I'll try to get a shot tonight or tomorrow. :-)
Okay, i will take a look.
