Just a thought.... How often do you do water changes and do you supplement with any trace elements or other types of chemicals how has your skimmer been doing?

Hi Mike, and happy new year. I had to edit your post because it was making my eyes bleed. hehe I made your images "large" and placed them between text that was formatted double spaced (or like paragraphing). Also, since you were talking about parameters, I assigned this entry to the "Water Chemistry" category.

I noticed you've got a Flame Angel in there. It could be nipping at your Green Star Polyps. It is a pretty hardy coral and if your water results are good, it should be fine. Your pH was a big on the high end, but that isn't the number you'll get 24 hours a day. Was that the peak of the lighting period? Was it after you just dosed more alkalinity (as in 2-part dosing)? How do you test pH specifically? A test kit, or a pH meter?

2.4 meq/l Alkalinity is a bit low. The lowest we want is 2.86 meq/l or 8 dKH. Some other Alkalinity kits I use are Salifert, Elos, and Tropic Marin.

It appear to be a sore. That fish tends to sleep in a hole in the rocks, and it is possible something tried to snack on it while it was sleeping. It may heal up on its own.

I force evaporation for cooling. My 75G display, 90 G total system loses right about 3 1/2 gallons per day. That gives nearly 34,000 BTU of cooling. With my RO/DI tank on the back porch and my ATO it's really no problem.

I lose a couple gallons per day as well on my 125. They shouldn't sell reef tanks without an ATO.

My house is dry and I have to add a couple gallons per day too. Nothing to worry about.

depending on time of year and how much the cooling fan is running, I use anywhere from 1/2gal to 2 gals a day on my 40breeder. I use a bucket and float valve for auto top off...
