Leave him in, looks harmless.

I think you have a bunch of good pictures, and the videos were nice. Thanks for updating us. The tank is clean and devoid of nuisance algae. Keep up the good work.
That sounds about right.
Droppings have been spotted! He curls up in the top corner of my tank during the day, but when night comes he munches away on the sand bed. He looks good.
Unknown. It can mop off each kernel if it can't ingest it grain by grain. Watch for tell-tale droppings to see if it is processing anything.

Regarding my observation and concern in my above post, Do you think the sand is too large for it ingest or is it common for it to drop lots of grains of sand as it brings it up to its mouth?

Thanks guys. The wife is giving it a one week trial period to decide if she likes it. Once she accepts the hanging lights I am going to pitch her a proposal to replace the couch with a frag tank . Shawn, checked out your cube, I like it. Nice work on the stand too. Keep us up-to-date on your diy led lighting, I look forward to seeing it.

Looks great. Thanks for sharing your images with us.
Good question, I have been wondering that myself. I have not actually seen it eat. It survived the tank cycle and seemed to have thrived on the algae bloom. I have also done several searches online, and while physical features are described, I have not come across anything that specifically says what it eats.
