Alright, so after talking with Phil, I went ahead and purchased some new lighting, and im very impressed. I bought a 24-30" Odyssea with quad lamps and moonlight LEDs. The packaging was excellent, with bubble wrap on everything. I was slightly nervous about the bulbs, as they sounded like they were broken, but they turned on perfectly. I now have two frags of soft corals, a zoa and I forgot to ask my LFS what the other one was. I got lost in its awesomeness and made a hasty purchase. Take pics tonight. But, my question is this: Should I continue using 10K bulbs during the day, and switch to 420 actinics at night? or invest in a dual bulb hood and use both lighting all day? I just want to check and make sure I keep my coral buddies as healthy as possible. Any input is greatly appreciated
Had a casualty today. Lost a 6-lined wrasse to my LTA, after only four hours of being introduced into the tank. I think the wrasse was trying to pick a piece of krill from the LTA's disc and got himself stuck. Also, I'm going to have to find a new home for one of my clowns, theyre fighting very aggressively and one has retreated to a corner and is losing color.
