These are URI Super Actinic VHOs.
Looks great, Marc - and thanks for the all the info. I'm setting-up a new 180g. Going to use EZTube like you did, 12k MH + Icecap 660 for VHOs. What kind of VHO lamps did you use to supplement your MHs? Super Actinic? 454nm?
OK, Good to know about the anthias. Any special precautions I should take when I do get them? i.e longer acclamation, longer QT?
Chromis die easily, but if you get some good ones they last a long time. Anthias are far more frail.
They did better than my blue/green chromis. I bought 6 and only have 3 left! 3 died on me within a week of getting them. I hope anthias are hardier, I plan on getting some next.
I have 7 anthias, so those held up amazingly well. Frankly, I'm surprised.
Looks great! How many of the original 8 anthias do you still have? I still think you should paint your walking board black and add the sand/traction product to the paint to make it slip-proof. You still have not revealed what you are going to do for a backdrop. I am sure it will be something "trick". Maybe you can find some electronic LCD screen to put on the back of the glass....that can dim by a switch:-) I just hung a curtain rod and hung a black piece of polyester fabric. When you look from the front, the curtain gives a cool illusion of depth across the back of the tank. I can easily slide it out of the way when I am working back there.
very nice! i like how you listed them for others to use!! (chances are we will all have a few of these)
The pedal is a foot-controlled on/off switch. The perk is that it has a longer cord than the circulation pump, so it could reach the plug on the wall. Plus, it is hands-free. I love how quiet it is. It was pretty noisy in the living room with all gear running, so having that gone is wonderful.
Awesome Marc! Phil is right, super quiet.
Nice, but it's too quiet. I get paranoid if I can't hear my equipment running.
Beautiful Marc.
So nice to see you back up and running.
Looking good Marc
Congrats ! Great job ! Reef Addicts TOTM !
your tank is looking nice. It's a shame you lost many of your SPS and larger LPS.
What is the foot pedal for?
The tank looks sick... i like that you used gray/black pvc pipes.
Cool Marc. Glad to see that little guy is still around.
With all the stuff you keep relegating to it, are you going to have room for frags?
