I have had issues with those coming off due to high humidity. And the real pain is the glue mess they leave behind. Still way better than nothing.

Well, you may never get to see it.

"Our research has already found that reef noise is used by the larvae of fish and even corals to locate and select habitat after their early development in the open ocean, but using noise to avoid reefs, that is a first."

Are they saying that coral larvae can hear? So strange.

You know another great option for the wiring mess that most people end up with is standard sticky backs. Small square designed to stick a zip tie through, and double sided tape on a flat section to mount it. That's how I have all my stuff set up to keep the wiring out of the way.

boo for needing the facebooks to see it.

Somebody should repost it as I refuse to make a facebook account.

Marc are you sure the tank needed leveling? Did you check the position of the moon first? You may be getting some tidal action in that monster!

Right on, I really like those cord tie downs. I'm definitely going to try and find some of those. Btw, Love the pic of Marilyn in the fishroom, she's the bee's knees.

I've always run 10,000K - 20,000K - 10,000K because I like that look. While the blue is in the center, it appears like the sun is shining in the center. It just has a natural look. I enjoy the blue period from 11am to 1pm (VHO actinics), and from 9:30pm to 11pm (VHO for 30 minutes, Moonlighting for one hour).

No, those are just normal wirenuts on the VHO harness. I have the waterproof kind on the MH ballasts.

There's enough weight that the lightrack doesn't move more than where it belongs. At an estimated 80 or 90 lbs, you have to give it a little pressure to move it, but nothing that strains a muscle. It can't go too far forward because of the furr down, and the other direction it is stopped by the 265g poly tank. Here's a picture of that tape - turns out it is Scotch, not 3M. Whoops:

Hmmm...I think I know what it is!

BTW, very nice DIY mounting for the ballasts. That should be very effective in stopping vibration transfer. Me likey!

    That's a riot.

Yup! Still sexy! When you roll it back and forth do you have stoppers, or a friction spot that stops it from moving one way or the other? Or are the parts stiff enough that it takes a bit more then a push of the finger to move it?

Any chance of getting a photo of that 3M tape packaging? I'd love to pick myself up a roll.

Marc, looks great as always. Are you using the 10k's for the grow out phase of the tank, you normally like bluer bulbs right? also are those wire nuts that are exposed the silicone filled ones? you know I have a fish tape you could have used to run wires inside the tubing.

Love it. I'm going to be stealing some of your ideas on my light rack. Looks great.

I can't wait to see the tank with all the livestock in it. Your tank makes me want to start planning out my 300dd. Any pics with just the LED's(moonlights)?

Looking great! Very inspirational. I also noticed the naked back panel of the tank. I can see how it would be advantageous to be a le to see into the tank from the fish room. Maybe a sheet of thin black acrylic attached in a way that it could be easily removed if needed, but blocks view of the room through the tank from the living room?
