Hey Marc, are they building the stand for it as well? Or do you have to find some metal fab guys to build it for you? Mid September seems like a long wait, don't they know they should drop everything and get all the boys at Marineland working on your tank?
I like that shirt! :-)
Yes, this tank is getting a brand new sump. The one I have now will be up for sale. The shirt says "We glue small animals to rocks." I got it from a LFS in Oklahoma.
That is awesome Marc! I can't wait for the build to get started now. Very funny pic...LOL. What does the shirt say? ;-)
new sump being built for the new tank? Love the shirt in the first pic
The real question is how much is this monster going to weigh! That and are they going to put it in your house or are we?? LOL So happy for you though! This tank is so going to rock! I cannot wait to see it!
GRATS TO YOU.. i cant wait to see this thing getting going
AWESOME! Glad to hear you've got the new tank sorted out. I'm very happy to hear you went with a marineland tank. I've often thought about them building me a custom tank for my next upgrade when that day finally comes.
My brother in law is a acupunturist... gotta send it to him
Thanks Marc, I really needed that today.
What test kit are you using?
Marc, what brand of salt do you recommend? I have been using Seachem reef salt. it claims to have good Magnesium but when I tested it, it only had 850. this is their claims. Chloride19336Sodium10752Sulfate2657Magnesium1317Potassium421Calcium442Carbonate/Bicarbonate142Strontium9.5Boron16Bromide64Iodide0.060Lithium0.3Silicon<0.1Iron0.0098Copper0.0003Nickel<0.015Zinc0.0107Manganese0.0023Molybdenum0.0098Cobalt0.0004Vanadium<0.015Selenium<0.019Rubidium0.118Barium<0.04
I've been adding alkalinity but it turns the water smokey and doesn't seem to go away. I know with zero flow it will settle out.
So the salt is not wasted can't you just dose alk when doing the water? Good to see rocks cycled and combined. One step closer! ;-)
LOL I was thinking 2 or 3.
With another magnet, no doubt. hehe
looks like a clam.
Marc nice use of the magnet pulling the 2 pendants together, all you need to do is add some weight to the opposite side of the remaining pendant to level it out.
Trying to ascertain exactly what I'm getting before they even start is the best way to make the stand the proper size and prepare the room. Once the stand has been ordered, I can build the new sump. Hopefully I'll time everything out so that when the tank arrives, the stand is in place and it is ready to accept it. With the waiting period, I'm hoping to maintain good water quality and stability for the corals. Since the LR isn't in the vats, I'll be able to put the sand in the tank and arrange the rockwork, then move the livestock into it. I don't see the rush to move it in once it is set up, but by then I may be ready to just get-r-dun to get my kitchen and living room back.
