OK, I am in the process of moving myself but have a couple hours downtime and expected to see pictures of new tank starting to come together. Anyway do we have an updated on this new masterpiece Marc??
Marc, when do you think you will be putting it back together? did you get a new tank on order? are you going to get another glass tank? -Steven btw my 240 with 90gallon sump (inspired by your setup) is up and running 4 months now and hopefully will last longer than yours did. I am scared to death now.
agsansoo - years ago, I knew a lot of people were swearing by that salt. I bought a few cases and they have sat ever since. I recently burned through all my Red Sea salt. I would have continued to use the same as I have two more buckets, but they for some reason have turned to stone. Brand new, never opened. I asked my LFS owner if he can help me get those swapped out, and a month later I'm still trying to get that sorted out unfortunately. It wasn't a high pressure situation when I first asked, but with the tank leak, all of that has changed. I need some results now. I still have two or three buckets of Kent salt (the bad batch that contains no alkalinity), or the three cases of Ocean Pure. I figured the OP would be safer than having to mix up my own recipe to make the Kent salt usable. However, I'll be testing it just to be safe before I use it.
Ah, that explains the vats in the livingroom!! Well skip the flowers and bring home a new skimmer or something!
Good luck Marc! Man you have a project ahead of you. I guess though it can be seen as a new beginning, only with very well established colonies. Admit it, you are looking forward to the new build.
Marc, have you ever used Ocean Pure salt before ? I have. I'm not a big fan of that brand (made in China). Monitor your reef closely.
Me too! TheToadstool was probably just pissed from getting moved from it's home. I read the artical last night on the disasembly, wow! That gif Jessy made was cool.

I'm going to meet up with our club's president tonight - he wants to give it a chance to turn around.
The weird color is that it only converts ammonia into I believe ammonium or something else closely related but not as deadly.... I really hope that coral makes it... its marvelous and better then any sps or lps I've ever seen imho. Do you have any locals with a large established qt system going?
Very sorry to hear this, that coral has been sort of a mascot for me, something to point to and say "See, that's what's possible." If worst comes to worst Marc, mine is neon green with white polyps and I'd be happy to send you a frag.
One thing I forgot to mention: Perhaps it spawned, which polluted the water or smothered the oxygen level. It smells worse today, even after that massive clean up last night. I'm testing ammonia and nitrite again.
Hope it turns around and makes it. Now I am having second thoughts about taking out my five year old toadstool that is on a piece of live rock along with a candy cane colony. I was planning on taking a chisel and hammer to the live rock to break them apart. Maybe, I'll just leave 'em together and let nature take its course.

I'm sorry to hear that Marc! If it would help it Marc you would be welcome to put it in my tank. Maybe it needs a real tank, for some reason. I believe my perimeter are all good and when ya have ya new tank in place you can put it back in its home. Let me know, that might help it, maybe.
Remember I lost the base of mine when changing tanks. All that was left was the top and it grew fully back. These are tought, it will come back... Dan
