those are some very very very pretty tanks nicely done
YAy! I get to see you! My car is packed up and I've running on 3 hrs of sleep
Tank looks as great as ever. Makes me even more excited about my up coming 180 build!!! Keep up the great work! Nathan
I'm thinking of switch to VHOs as well, all the tanks that I see with colors that pop like crazy are VHO. I have tried a few different bulb combinations with my T5 but I haven't been able to get anything close yet...
I'd say you'll see the same results. ARO has been their house ballast for years, and I've even got an old one that still works. For my reef, I'm using the IceCap 660.
WOW, the actinics look amazing! Hey Marc, I'm going to put in an order for a VHO retrokit. I'm going to order from hello lights since I can get it for a really good price. I'm planning on using the ARO ballast since they're inexpensive. I shouldn't see much of a difference should I?
Yes, they are URI Super Actinics. $32 each at www.MarineDepot.com for the 6' bulbs.
It's about time Marc. I have been waiting to see what you think of the IceCap LED lights.
Looks great. I enjoy looking at my tank with only the VHO lights on, the most. Are you running the super actinic VHO's ?
The tank looks as stunning as ever and I still can't believe how huge that Toadstool is. It's epic !

If you have clear housings then it's easy to tell if you have a significant event like I did. As I said they were doing construction which caused my water to turn brown. I was making water at the time which is why this cartridge got spent so fast. Normally I change it every 5-6 months and it doesn't look this bad. Also I watch my TDS on my RO membrane output to tell what's going into the DI stage. It was 35PPM. So I shut it off, changed the cartridges and flushed it. Then the TDS on the RO membrane was 0PPM (before it even hits the DI stage). My town water only has about 125PPM out of the tap.
What about if you are on well water? Any signs there?
Wow - two weeks: That's incredible. I hope you are drinking and cooking with RO water.
Here is a picture of my 5 micron filter less than two weeks after I changed it.
Sounds good, i'll have to pick some up next time I'm at the hardware store
that is awesome, themed frag plugs..
But where are the stripper pics? Man, what a gyp.... Oh, I see. It's an article about using a common FLOOR stripper. Sheesh! I saw: Marc is a professional stripper, and immediately started scrolling for pics, lol! I mean, with that profile pic, who wouldn't be looking for more! Now I'll have to go read about killing aiptasia.
Thanks Marc I might have to give this a try. I have been using the Kalk paste method and with some hiding in some corners is i is hard to get to the mouth. With this method it appears as long as I touch them with the solution it will kill it.
