i think it was a algal turf scrubber back there! love the store i wish there was a store like that where i live. maybe i should open one . there is a pretty nice store in Knoxville TN, which is about a 1.5-2 hr drive for me. but still doesn't quite compare with this one

Holy crap ... we don't have anything like that around here. Both stores were extremely impressive

I only had time to visit, take in all the details that I could and shoot as many images as possible. I didn't get around to any pricing.

Marc, how was the pricing for the two stores that you showed us. We don't have anything even close to those in Charlotte.

Beautiful woodwork throughout the store. Owner must be a trim carpenter.

Is that a large turf scrubber in their sump next to the Lifeguard filters?

Good news the guys at Neptune received my unit on Monday, fixed it and its on its way back.
PS ya i had 2 new Neptune probes and used their 7 and 10ph solutions. They replaced a component or two so just bad luck but great customer service.

I love my Apex! Good choice! Plus you can use the old DC8's from the ACIII system with it as well!

    Btw-
    "ORP:
The ORP level of the tank has been going up and down, and looks really dramatic in this next screenshot. This simply measures the oxygen level in the water. Trapped CO2 in the house can drive this down, and of course adding food to the tank can affect this measurement."

Isn't correct- a DO (Dissolved Oxygen) probe would measure that. ORP is Oxidation Reduction Potential and it's pretty complex. Here's a good article on it: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-1...ture/index.php

I just ordered mine yesterday. I can't wait to get it and start playing. For anyone that is looking for one aquarium specialty has them in stock.

I didnt have fish because one of our clients broke down his tank, which "occupied" our quarantine. Thats where the batfish came from. OCCUPY QUARANTINE!!

    jmaneyapanda,
Where does the air go in the media reactor? How often do you replace the air stones in the reactor? also do you have a diagram or flow chart of the fish room. what does the coral system sump consist of? thanks
The entire reactor is vented into the sump for the system. The water flows in reverse flow (in the top, and out the bottom). The air stores are ceramic, and are staying Exceptionally clean. I have yet to replace them. I'm not quite sure what you mean by a diagram or flow chart. Of the filter room? Here is a video walk through: http://reefbuilders.com/2011/10/11/s...eef-equipment/.

The Coral system sump is a MRC BioSump using Seachem Matrix. There is a labyrinth of plumbing to deliver to the necessary tanks, reactors, and filters, but all returns go into the socks area before hitting any part of the sump.

It is indeed Kaldnes media. We spoke to a few aquaculture facilities that used it and loved it. It has been gangbusters for us thus far.

It is the new melevsreef.com - I've been working on it sporadically for the past 8 months, but would really like to get it done and live finally.
