Many people are "on the fence" about the new Radion LED fixtures because the software hasn't been released to GHL yet so they can write the needed code to be able to control them. I just got confirmation today on this very topic directly from EcoTech: Johnathan- Customer Service (Employee) 11 minutes ago Yes; the Radion was designed to work with the existing controllers that support EcoTech Marine products and the software to do so is currently in development. So at least we know it really is "in the works" we just have to wait until they release it. At least if someone was "on the fence" about whether or not to buy one based on your ProfiLux investment you can rest pretty well (not 100% yet but close) knowing that the odds are in our favor now. At least Ecotech admits they are going to do this when just 2 weeks ago they pretty much were "hush hush" one way or the other.
wow great pics
hey melev what ever happened to your giant toadstool? it was by far my favorite coral in your old tank
Tank is looking badass. I had a yellow getting bullied and even trapped in a hole. I thought for sure it was going to die, and then one day he had enough, and fought back. He ended up re-joining the herd and ended up doing just fine. It was a purple and another yellow that had ganged up on him.
He is the thinnest of the three yellows, and gets picked on by the other two for no good reason. It's the one that got glue on his mouth too, which didn't help him eat. I'm hoping for the best for him.
You have really gotten good at the quality of your pictures. I think I need to find a portal magnifier. I wonder if they are in any black Friday sales?
I noticed the tang too, but I figured that it was fairly new to the tank. Once it gets going on Marc's feeding regime, it should begin to fatten up.
Hey Melev, the tank is looking great! However, in the 19th picture (the one with 2x yellow tang + 1x naso tang) that the yellow tang on the bottom is looking a little stressed and skinny. Is he okay? It could also just be the angle of the picture. Keep up the good work!
That one Vortech pump (mp40) is to create some cross flow to the bommie area.
if anyone sees a deal on an mp10 let me know
Why the Vortech on the side? Nice pics as usual.
I figure that this is as good a time as any for me to buy some backup equipment
I finally broke down and build a carbon reactor for the sump on mine. 50 gal wc, 3cups carbon, and 3 days later I can definitely see a difference
I'm really interested in these Radion units. There is a guy over on RC that has 12 of them over his tank!
that red turf algae sounds like what all of my rocks are covered with. there is still a little coraline in the darker parts of the rockwork. the urchins don't like it. the tangs all eat it. even the Pink Tail Trigger eats it sometimes. i love the anemones but also wonder about the chemical warfare. i have four big rose anemones and some corals that are still growing in my newly set up 120 gallon. Having a "rock island" is a good option for those pesky nems. They reach fairly far with their tentacles, but they haven't strayed from my little prison.
I was using the new Cg glue from Ecotech Marine, as well as some D&D two-part putty. Between the two products, almost anything can get affixed where desired.
Marc, maybe you can keep one Anemone in ya tank and remove the rest of them. Also, do you superglue frags in the tank? Or do you take the rock out?
Ah, the infamous HUFFER tang!
Shops in my area don't even properly light their so called "Display Only" aquariums. I should start traveling a little.
