  1. Day One

It almost feels wrong counting days of the 215g temporary tank. The 400g ran for just over 13 months when it sprung a leak, and that mental counter was discontinued. In order to fix the tank, it needed to be emptied, and eight days ago I was able to squeeze a loaner aquarium into the fishroom to hold the livestock.

As soon as everyone left, my cold kicked into overdrive and I ended up trying to will away the flu with all the meds I had on hand. It took a full week to get back on ...

  2. The temporary aquarium is here

With the 400g needing to be repaired or replaced, I had to do something for the current livestock. 4. I totally didn't see them

One of my friends came over today to pick up his critters from the Keys Critters group buy, and spotted a mass of eggs flowing in the water. I hadn't noticed them, and if I had I would have assumed it was some white sponge, but he's obviously right. I'm guessing Chromis eggs, but really have no idea. Neat find, right?

  5. The reason for the leak

I'm not a tank builder so I don't about stress tolerances, but I did find why the water was coming out of the small hole in the seam. Here's the hole.

The inside of the end of the tank with the external overflow is covered with a black acrylic panel which is really just for looks like a facade. The glass box should hold the water. However, somehow the end has given way.
