  1. Need Help with ID

    Hi All,
This picture includes two critters that we arent sure of. They both hitched in on some LR we bought from a guy breaking down his 220G. The larger one I thought he said was a "leather coral." Is that correct?
The three smaller ones on the same rock moved around the tank for a while then seemed to take root where they are. Actually, there are about 8-10 of these in all in the tank... all in various locations. We even observed one on the glass for a while when they were ...
  2. Which Tests?

    Hi All,
Relatively new tank... and now we want to start with some good habits. Currently testing for O2, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia, salinity, and PH. Which ones should be done and with what frequency?

Also, we have only janitors and two fish thus far. However, we found a small leather coral (we think) and want to know what we should begin to feed this... and how for that matter?
    Thanks,
    Jim

  3. Covers?

There seems to be some written, not a lot, but some opinions as to whether to cover the display tank with glass covers or not. I'm quickly gaining a lot of trust in the replies posted here... so what do you think?
    Thanks,
    Jim
  4. DIY Refugium

    Hi All,
About four weeks into my son's reef build we ran across a used 35G aquarium for $20! So of course we bought it and went to work building a fuge (prior to finding this site). Seems to have made a huge difference in the tank chem... but we are still getting some micro bubbles in the display tank. Wondering if anyone has any wisdom for us? I think it is running about 500gph.... the drawings are below (not to scale):
