We have a 90g aquarium at work that is more than 17 y/o that the silicone is showing it's age and has algae that has managed to grow between it and the glass in the corners. Can we use a razor blade to remove the old silicone and reseal the corners without compromising the structural integrity?

My list of things to do and buy to get my SW tank going is another step closer! I ordered my RO/DI filter today so I will have the proper water

I am envious of all the beautiful tanks everyone has on here and can't wait to get mine going!

I am contemplating setting up one of my 55 gal to get the tank cycling while I am building my display tank stand. When it is ready then transfer the substrate, LR and water from the 55 into it.

Any thoughts on doing this?

i am working on designing my stand and was wondering if anyone has a "Rule of Thumb" that they use as a weight per gallon of a stocked and decorated aquarium? i know it will vary depending on what you put into it. just looking for a general guideline
