If your not going to ever use the holes again then patch them no sense in leaving bulkhead fittings in if you not going to use them. Plus thats a easy patch job if that what your really asking

Not answering as an acrylic pro by any means, but both options can be just as reliable if done correctly. The one thing to remember is that if you ever choose to re-plumb your tank, you are out of luck if you glue plates over the holes. Just something to think about.

Thanks, well, sort of, for the responses (lol). My wife is a HUGE Johnny Depp fan and actually suggested Jack for our first son. Swearing it had nothing to do with Pirates, but knowing she would catch crap for ever if we named him that!
And I believe the Hawaiian princess was Kapiolani.

I love the name Kai. It's short for Malachi (not at all a girls name) and two of my very good guy friends are named that. (again I love it )
Have you thought of Jonah? Or what about Jack like cap't jack sparrow. (ok i may be in vegas and I MAY be drunk...more to follow)

Maybe Jacques D'Aunoy as in reference to one of the pioneers of underwater exploration, and also of proud French ancestry. (Jacques Cousteau)

Be careful with the name Kai as I believe it is mostly interpreted as short for the feminine name Kaiolani a former princess of the Hawaiian Islands. A pretty name but just be cautious as others might tease, even though your not supposed to mess with the boy named Sue. (Johnny Cash)

You can also check out this site http://www.satistronics.com/ if you are buying LED's for a DIY build. This is where we purchase from and they ship pretty quick and have never had a problem.

I am no longer using this salt, my LFS never got any more in. Also I wanted to try the ESV B-Ionic 4 part. I really like this salt. I like the ability to fine tune your mix in terms or Alk/CA/Mag in the mix. My system sucks down the Alk, so it is nice to be able to mix it just a bit high to compensate.
That being said it was overall a decent salt mix.

I'm on the fence with this subject as well. I have a build in progress and have plans to DIY my own fixture. I've been reading all of the stories about SPS and such losing some color. I also think it would be benificial to incorporate some U.V. LED's into the rig.

I was speaking with a friend of mine who witnessed a demonstration one a 180G tank with LED's. Ofcorse we all know how colors pop under the blues. But he said that the guy who was doing a demonstration had a small retro fixture with 6 u.v. led's and when he turned them on over the tank everybody in the room's jaws dropped from the spectacular colors it produced. My buddy said he seen colors in corals that you'd never know where there if it wasn't for the u.v.

But with that being said I think the key would be to find the right ballance of u.v. to incorporate into a fixture. Too much u.v. can be a bad thing and not enough won't give you the look that you're after. I was planing on possibly incorporating a total of 4 u.v. leds into my build to put over my 120G tank. Ofcorse all of my colors will be on seperate dimmers for fine tuning the output of the led's without having to adjust the height of the fixture.

SuperBrightLED .com sells u.v. leds as well as a wide range of led products.
