Prologue I have been at this hobby for the past 8 years (coming up). I have had sucess to varying degrees, which magically corolate with overall interest (aka: Husbandry). I must admit I am cheapskate (to a certain degree). As well as an advocate for "why pay for something that I can do myself?" I have a 125 gallon tank with 55 gallon sump, that is filled two thirds for about 160 gallon total volume. I have a Aqua C EV-180 protein skimmer. For ...
Here are some photos of the frags I got from my local club’s frag-a-thon. A few of the frags on the frag racks are not from the frag-a-thon. ...
I took a couple of short video's today of the display tanks and some broodstock that I got for the breeding system a couple of days ago. Display tank New Spotcinctus Clown Pair
I was at the fish store today picking up food, I was having a look at the coral when I spotted a beautiful coral (blackberry pic sorry) Hahaha okay so maybe it’s not that nice, its ugly it’s completely browned out so I was able to get it cheap!!! I am almost certain it will color up amazingly, its not visible in the picture but if you look real close inside the polyups you can see ...
After doing a few "best guess" calculations, it appears the snapper hybrid would flow somewhere around 1500 - 1600 gph with the snapper impeller and the calc'd head loss. The pump actually comes with two impellers which can be changed out. My "best guess" calculations suggest, with head losses, the dart would flow around 2200 - 2400 gph. That's around 30x turnover for the tank. But with the dart impeller and at the calc'd head loss, the pump would pull around 180 watts. I'd ...
