Tank Entry

Talking to my favorite LFS about my Aiptasia blues (which they were aware of given my shrimp purchases) one of the guys (Maciel, great guy, really) offered to lend me a fish trap, explained how to operate it and encouraged me to try.

You might recall that on Feb 13th I caught my Mithrax crabs eating my Green Star Polyps. Well, in May I noticed my Zoa seemed to be missing some polyps... but I wasn't sure, so I started to take pictures. It didn't take much to confirm.... on May 10th I noticed though the pictures that a few polyps were really missing.... and coincidently I found one polyp loose on the substrate.

Must have been a polyp the crab cut loose but wasn't able to hold.

It has been quite a while since I last posted, mostly because I used the little free time I had available to move forward my DIY LED fixture + controller, plus take care of the tank itself. But quite a number of things did happen in and out of the tank, so I'll now post some updates.

Given that blogs are best done in chronological order, I'll make several update posts, one per day when something happened.... as if I had posted them on the original date.

I am in the early stages setting up a in wall 125 mixed reef. The tank will be delevered next week. I have 100 pounds of dry rock and before I put put it into a tub to start to cure, I thought I would tHere is my first attept at the rock lay out. I welcome any comments
