Some random guy named Marc, who posts here every now and then, opines that corals are best viewed and photographed from above. When the pumps are off during feeding I too, like to view the tank from above through the still surface. Last night I took a few pictures, though without the benefit of a top down photo box (someday I would like to get one, but I am busting the budget still buying frags and fish for my relatively new setup). The frags are still small, but growing! Red Planet ...
Bubble Magus BM-NAC5E External Protein Skimmer I think the time has come to replace the Seaclone 100 Protein Skimmer. I has been doing its job as well as it can but I am finally at a point in the setup were I would like to purchase something of better quality and more efficiency. According to the instructions I must add approximately 4 drops per 1 gallon (I have added 20 drops to my aquarium) and will have to leave the Protein Skimmer off for a period of 4 hours after each dose (in ...

I guess I will finally make my first post here on Reef Addicts as I have been lurking around for a week or so. I am currently living in Okinawa Japan where we have some of the best diving in the world with all the prized fish and corals. After diving for the last 2 years here, I finally decided to get back into reefing after a 3 year hiatus. While I was in California I had a 125 gallon reef and a 60 gallon reef. I never could get up the nerve ...
