Tank Entry

Hello, my name is Brett (drummereef) and this is my 180g / 220g total system volume reef tank. Haven't added corals yet since I'm currently waiting out some small algae cycles but it's coming along. Here's some pics of the system.

So my wife and I where looking to add a little more scenery to the dinning room area of our home but didn't want to spend a fortune. So while picking up some supplies at a local Pet Smart we stumbled across the the Fluval Chi. It is a 5.5 gallon rimless aquarium with and integrated filter with LED lighting. It allows the water to be filtered and to trickle back into the aquarium like a fountain. So at $55.00 for the sale price we had to pick one up.

Upgrading both tanks into the brand new Marineland 265 gallon reef ready tank with the monterey stand in black. This is going to be a long drawn out blog, im warning you now lol.
So where I have my new tank in place sits on slab, so im lucky I do not need to support anything from underneath, which is great ...

It took three of us 5 hours yesterday to pull out the sump and get it set up in the livingroom. It's a horrendous science experiment now, eating up tons of space and looking truly insane. Amazingly, all was accomplished without a single run to Home Depot.
