  1. As the equipment ages, it must be replaced

My reef is coming up on 6 years old this August, and some of the gear is definitely showing signs of wear. As I look at various items, I know they have to be replaced with new components which of course cost more money. Knowing that, I drag my feet because I like to eat too.

As you know, this week I had to swap out my return pump. Essentially, that was free. Here are the details if you missed it:

I attached the wall wood trim around the tank, filled nail holes, paint, etc, and whe I have the overflow drain fully open, the water line is about 1 inch below the trim. When I got there, I was impressed with their coral selection. They only do saltwater, which is noce as well.

One cool thing, was they have a section where you can buy from $10, $20, $30, $40, and $50 frags tanks. This is a good way for beginners to try differnet corals w/o breaking the bank. ...

  5. Cyano Struggle Continues

Well, after I set up my new tank I was feeling very pleased with myself, but reality would soon kick me in the testes once again as I have cyano covering all the sand and some rock. I attribute it to the stress of moving everything over to the new tank and the increased bioload of a couple new fishes.
