  2. Update on my 150

    ok sorry its been a while since ive been on. taking 5 classes this summer is a pain. So this is my last blog http://www.reefaddicts.com/entry.php/28019-150g-build. since then ive aded a new light and decided to stay with MH for now, you just cant beat the results from growth and coral. New fixture is a lucky find on craigslist, its a 2x250w and 2x54w t5, i paid $500 for it, brand new in the box unopened so i was happy.   3. The maintenance never ends, right?

    The tank is really doing well lately, but that doesn't mean stop taking care of the mundane stuff. Tonight I hopped off the couch and scraped the inside of the sump clean of everything, siphoned it all out down the french drain, wiped down the skimmer body and cleaned the collection cup. While the two Dart pumps were off, the 5" strainers were soaked in vinegar & water, as well as the frag tank's Durso & perforated pipe. Sponges and other creatures were clogging the holes, and what I'm assuming ...

  4. Looking for some guidence and help

    this is my first entry on reef addicts. I am looking for some advice and guidence. I have been in this hobby for about 8 years. I have let my tank go down hill when everything that I was bought would die. A few times i wanted to take down my 90 gallon but could not bring my self to it. Recently I found out that I have been giving wrong info from the LFS, I have installed a refugium with live sand, rubble rock, cheato, a bio pellet reactor and a reef octopus 6 skimmer.   5. Bringing Home Baby

    Chapter 1 History
    About a year ago I took a job that required me to be out of town for 4 weeks or more at a time. So I gave my 55 gal reef to a friend and fellow reefer. The job didn't work out and I ended up unemployed for a while. Now, I've got a good stable job in town, and my friend offered me the reef back. Seems he was tired of taking care of 2 systems, especially with our electric prices here.
