Tank - Full Summary

I actually said "pet rock" when describing live rock to a friend today. Most of my aquascape is base rock from Marco Rocks, and I purchased several small pieces of live rock from a local store to seed the tank with yummy bacteria.

Firstly, Hi everyone at Reef Addicts I've recently fallen into the world of saltwater aquariums, after my mum purchased a tank for me for my 18th birthday. I'm now about 1 month and 300 dollars or so into it. I plan to update about once a week, just to keep a record of my tank's progress and to help collect my thoughts; perhaps maybe give you guys a bit of a good read?

My setup philosophy is that I will start out with basic but capable equipment, and I can add more to supplement instead of replacing them. For example, the AquaClear filter is providing a lot of flow on its own, but if it proves not to be ...

First let me say a Huge thank you to Marc for the dedication he has given to this hobby as it has inspired me to finally get to this point. FYI I know full well and I am sure Marc will be one of the first to point out that he is just one of many out there giving back to this hobby. Hello Addicts Gozer here to introduce my self and what I'm doing here. I've been in the reef hobby for about 4 years... I think. I have a 75 gallon tank with about 100 in the system. At one point it was quite a nice tank for a novice. I say at one point because sadly I lost my addiction fervor a year or so ago.
