Anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to find any info on the web about reefers doing this with their home pumps. I'm trying to figure out whether to use the snapper changeover on my reeflo pump and throttle it back or use the dart and let it run more wide open...
Thought that I would share the latest from the rebuild. I'm almost done with the acrylic work, and let me tell you, it's been fun to make various components now that I have the skills. I needed to mount my lighting fixture to the canopy, and the stands that came with the LED fixture were not suited to my tank. There was also no way to suspend the fixture. I wanted to devise a way to mount the fixture to the canopy, yet not have it attached to the lid. I don't want the fixture shining ...

My first aquarium was purchased from my LFS almost 10 years ago. I had it up and running until we moved to a new house in 2007. Since that time, its sat in the corner of my basement and collected dust. I installed a SMR around January/February this year and had heard reports that it may trigger a cyano bloom that would eventually subside. In my case, that worked out to be true. I gave it a little encouragement with a popular product called Chemi-clean. But then it came back a month later. Slowly, but steadily. I treated again and increased the flow in my SMR to make sure I wasn't getting any dead spots in the reactor. I'm currently in process of my fourth treatment this year - and as a guy ...
