I pulled out the test kits tonight to see where things are. I'm happy to report great numbers across the board. Salinity 1.026sg pH 8.22 ORP 313 Temperature 79.3F Alkalinity 10dKH Calcium 480ppm Magnesium 1450ppm Nitrate 0 Phosphate 0 Even with these excellent numbers, I'm going to do a 50g water change tomorrow. Well, My LFS advised me to try the chemical - Stability; to Cycle the tank with and after a weeks worth these are the readings taken at noon today. temp - 80.5 SG - 1.024 PH - 8.0 Ammon - 0.00 ppm Nitrite - 0.00 ppm Nitrate - 20 ppm. I dont have test kits yet for Alkalinity or calcium... Am thinking that a 10% water change is in order and to see what the Nitrate comes down to???? or perhaps a 20%?? ...
Hello All, My weekend project was to build a Quarantine Tank and start it cycling. I built the cabinet from scratch wood leftovers and the tank used to be a red ear slider Turtle tank. All in all I'm impressed that it's straight and level... lol.
