  1. Off Hanggliding and what did I find on my return?

    Hello All,

I took the week off, went to Point of the Mountain, Ut. ( Near SLC) for some Hanggliding with friends, only to have my wife tell me that she thought the sump was leaking 3 days into the trip. Well, I returned today and my 29 gallon sump was indeed leaking, so, Turned off the return pump, turned off the Remora Pro P.S. , heaters to off and went about the business of quickly heading to Walmart for a 10 gallon tank as the fuge section was for the 1st time, working ...
  2. Stand and Sump Build - Research and a learning curve

Over the past few months I have taken my first faltering forays into saltwater aquarium keeping. To say that it has been speed bump free would be... a lie. Among other things I have cracked my tank and killed some of my livestock, but I have learned a lot and am looking forward to the future. I'm not proud of some of it, but take it or leave it I'm learning and I wanted to share my most ambitious project with RA. I hope you guys get something useful out of this blog entry and can learn something ...

  5. Suggestings on making a Metal Halide for my 75 gal.

I have been looking pretty heavily at making my own lighting for a new 75 gallon tank I just got. I'm debating whether to make an LED fixture or use MH lamps. I am wondering what the light output need would be for a standard sized 75 gallon (I realize LED and MH are different so whichever you guys know more about, please fill me in!). I would like to ensure that I can care for SPS corals adequately (the tank is 21" deep). Also, I am planning on hanging them 6 - 8 inches above the tank if ...
