For flow and power consumption reasons, I'm considering making a change for my main system pump from the PCX-55 to the Reeflo Dart. At first glance, it seems that I may be ?doubling? my flow with an 8' head - and potentially consuming far less wattage. I know the spec for the GENX pump (an Iwaki knockoff as far as I can tell) says something like 170W - but my experience has been more like ~220-240W. Currently, I use the pump to feed a manifold that serves my main tank, my skimmer, my fuge, frag ...

The overflow I ordered came in today. Here's the package contents. I guess candy is a trademark thing for these guys, lol. Just noticed the hole saw isn't in this picture, but it came with the kit also.

I'm ready to order the overflow but wanted to get some input from some of you guys with more experience. After all I'm really liking the idea provided in one of my earlier blogs about using an MP-40 and maybe adding an MP-10 for flow over my planned use of a snapper hybrid (less electrical use and fewer holes in the tank). Real quick. I've been saving up for a set of VorTech MP10wES pumps. However, I have a 4ft. long standard shape 75 gallon tank. I was wondering if two MP10s would provide enough flow? To give a bit more background, I am planning to place the MP10s on the tank's sidewalls. That's why I was thinking I could get away with using two MP10s and then just syncing them to be alternately on and off. Any suggestions? Should I use two MP40s instead? One MP40? Looking for a skimmer that will handle 2 x 80 Gallon Frag tanks with maintainence fish.
