  1. Very productive weekend

    Saturday morning, we started out bright and early. We went to the box store and came home with cinder blocks and a whole bag of pvc fittings to finish the plumbing of the sump to the tank. This is Brian's department, I'm the go-fer. He drew out the plan on paper so we could get the right fittings for the job.
    Once we got the sump positioned, cutting and gluing the pipes didn't take long at all. Of course there was a leak, where the sump drain hole was. We ended up replacing the fitting with ...

    Did some shopping last night to add to my BRS box that arrived yesterday! So now I'm up to ~$1,300 spent in plumbing to date and we're only around half way in that process.



    More photos soonish. I took them, and I charged my camera, but need some quality time with my laptop. I now have to go placate my wallet, whose feeling a little empty and down on itself.

  4. Tuesday evening update

    As you can imagine, I'm itching to move the livestock into the tank and get my living room devoid of old tank stuff. I want the sump out of the way, as well as the crusty Dart pump sticking out in the way. I want the two 100g troughs out of the way, and the Lumenbright pendants up on the light rack. I want the livestock in the tank so I can see my fish and the corals that are still hanging in there. I did a couple of water tests today. First I checked the 400g for Nitrite and Ammonia. Both ...
