  1. Pictures from Above

Some random guy named Marc, who posts here every now and then, opines that corals are best viewed and photographed from above. When the pumps are off during feeding I too, like to view the tank from above through the still surface. Last night I took a few pictures, though without the benefit of a top down photo box (someday I would like to get one, but I am busting the budget still buying frags and fish for my relatively new setup). The frags are still small, but growing!

  2. Bubble Magus BM-NAC5E External Hang On Back Protein Skimmer Review.

Bubble Magus BM-NAC5E External Protein Skimmer

I think the time has come to replace the Seaclone 100 Protein Skimmer. I has been doing its job as well as it can but I am finally at a point in the setup were I would like to purchase something of better quality and more efficiency. 4. clownfish are starting to get a little out of hand...

Well as some of you may remember I recently posted on how my ocellaris female was starting to ravage my hands, well it seems to be progressively moving towards me and my poor yellow tail damsel as they are now keeping it isolated to it's own little area and do not allow any other fish in half of the 75 gallon except for the small clown goby. I write because I am considering taking my ocellaris pair that I have had for over a year in to trade them for a new pair I believe that I have given them ...

  5. DIY sump Finished

DIY Glass sump assembled and water tested.
This is the biggest tank I have made so far myself and so far it looks good with no leaks or bowing.
Sump holds around 120G (440L) of water
    60x26x18" (150x65x45cm)
Sump will handle around 40G (150 L) of water backflowing when return pumps are shut down which should accomodate the volume drained from tank and fishroom.
    skimmers partition is 16x26x10" (40x65x25cm) then a 18G (65 L) Return partition and a couple ...
