Two weeks ago I had the impression my hammer coral (one ployp) was getting fatter.... well, today I am pretty sure it is splitting into two polyps! That might seem "so what?" to you, but feels very rewarding to me. It is the first stony coral in the tank that not only survived in my water and lighting but is also growing (had one Acan polpy that died, three Trumpet polyps that also died and another hammer polyp that got eaten by a rogue peppermint shrimp). Here they are. The cleanup crew I added several weeks ago is making good work of keeping the film algae down and I added several snails to the fuge and the glass walls are now viewable (mostly) and the pod population there is intact.
The COMAS frag swap will be held on April 9, 2011 at the University of Central Oklahoma venue, in Edmond Oklahoma. This is open to everyone, but you need be a COMAS member to bring frags for trade or sale. COMAS sponsors are invited and should contact Paul Whitby, the President of COMAS for details on sales.
