  1. Basic college chemistry? Anyone??

So I have a chemistry final today and I am stuck on one of my review problems and the prof. doesn't want to help me set this up to get the correct answer, I believe because a similar problem will be on the exam. Anyway if anybody is a chem major/teacher/enthusiast/just knows some chemistry can you help me out? Here is the problem that has kept me awake the past few nights (and for once its not the fault of my tank!):

    A 100.g iron ball(specific Heat = 0.473 J/g*C) is heated to 125*C ...

  2. Cyano Struggle Continues

Well, after I set up my new tank I was feeling very pleased with myself, but reality would soon kick me in the testes once again as I have cyano covering all the sand and some rock. I attribute it to the stress of moving everything over to the new tank and the increased bioload of a couple new fishes. 3. Loc-Line returns

Ok, I am no fluid dynamics engineer, so I am totally confused about what to do for returns from the 1" PVC coming out of my overflow.

I have about 4 90s and 2 45s, a couple true union valves, and about 6' of static height. I also have a T off the return, feeding a small amount of water to the refugium...valve ...

The power went out 1 hour and 20 minutes ago. So my generator is running instead. Gotta keep my reef happy and my internet connection live.

  5. Gone Fishin'

    Gone Fishin'

Well, after about a week of having some new Tierra Anthias fish in my tank, the male anthias has turned out to be a bully. He chases my other fish, almost all of them, away from 'his side' of the tank. This include the female anthias, blue/green chromis, leopard wrasse, and others. He killed one of the female tierras due to harassment, and also a new Evansi anthias that I added to test out mixing the two. I decided this joker was going to have to be removed. I did ...
