Flow issue

I don't think I'm getting enough flow, but my pumps gph seems to be high enough. What would you do if you had a 90 gallon tank with 2 Koralia Evo 1050 powerheads and a return pump? The ph's are positioned in the back corners both facing the middle of the front pane of glass, and the return is on the back right side pointed straight left. Would you redirect pumps? Add pumps? Keep in mind budget is a concern here. I can't just go out and buy vortech pumps or anything like that.

I hate to say it, because it really kinda sounds like a cheapass way of doing it, but I got that algae free upgrade kit on a maxi-jet 900 and it's beast. Right now the new tank is just cycling, so it's got the return pump from the sump with a locline and a single maxijet 900 with the 1600gph blade in it. Whole setup would only run ya like 40 bucks or so shipped from marine depot, though it is quite bulkier and a bit of an eyesore compared to the nicer pumps

The flow you have now sounds roughly like what I had in my 29g, Mits. You can definitely add more powerheads if you don't mind looking at them.

I actually had the modded maxijet on there, but I was using it on an old 1200 that died on me recently. I may grab a new one soon.

yea, the 1200 with the white impeller is like 2100gph of flow.... twice what your koralia's are if I'm correct

I'm running 2 Koralia 400 gph power heads in my 50 gal, plus 250 gph return. The flow doesn't look like much, but my corals are thriving. Since I'm starting to add SPS's I am planning to upgrade after Christmas. Play around with the location and aiming, that can make a big difference with the Koralia's. And for softies and LPS you've probably got plenty.
