Paul Whitby's 600g reef

Rate this Entry
Last weekend while visiting the COMAS club at CRASE, I got to stop by Paul Whitby's beautiful 600g reef. It is 2.5 years old, and in a hybrid tank by AGE. Paul had them create a tank that has an acrylic perimeter glued to the PVC base, but the panels are starphire glass.

This M. undata is pretty with the pink section woven amidst the green.

A few gems are hidden in the shadows like this very nice Torch coral.

A mixed Frogspawn makes a beautiful showpiece.

Paul accesses the back of the tank from the kitchen side. The plumbing runs out into a room in his garage that houses the sump.

That tank is beautiful! Love the variety of coral and fish, although I seems like there should be more fish in there. What may I ask is the purpose of the hybrid build? Also he may want to spend some time behind that tank, quite the trip hazard!

Marc, did you get a chance to take a sump or equipment room picture?

The contrast between neighboring corals is awesome. Someone did a great job on thinking of the future when placing each coral.

Shawn - my pictures are 770 pixels wide and hosted on my other site. If you can resize them to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600, then upload them to Photobucket, you can share them at a good size that fits most monitors.
