Ok so I am going to try and get my DIY rock going in the next month. I really want to do a wall of sort and came up with this basic design.

It will be roughly 10" tall or roughly half the way up the back of the tank. and was thinking about 30-36 inches long so it will not be the entire width of my 48" tank.

The ovals will be shelf's to attach corals to, figuring about 2" out from the wall. The squares will be magnets I will sink into the mold in order to secure it to the back glass and have it movable and removable.

I plan to place the mold on acrylic in order to maintain a smooth finish on the back so that it meets up to the back glass smoothly with not alot of pockets for crap to gather. I figure I will make this about 1/2" to 3/4" thick. I may do it in two pieces if the first one is too brittle.

Will post photos once I start the process.

I will be using a mixture ive found on various sites. Basically its cement, crushed oyster shells and rock salt. I want to make the different rocks and designs instead of dealing with what i get, also its cheaper. I will be seeding with 10lbs or so, plus 55 or so lbs of what I make.
