Why not add a solar skylight tube thing aobve the niche ?

So, I wasn't crazy about the potential energy consumption of this new hobby. All the pumps, heaters, lights, timers, skimmers.... I saw a post about using a sky light and I thought that it would be a slick place for one. I went up in the attic and verified that I would only have to move some electrical and one beam. The bean was actually a stringer accross the ceiling joists, so I felt that I could cut it out and move it over when the time came. I added the skylight to google sketch up.

Then next addiction was Google Sketchup.

So, I couldn't cut into the wall and start building, but I could plan it out for the next few weeks. I had pictures from then they built my house, and I started to lay it out in autocad, but then I found out about google sketchup. Its a free 3d modeling program that I started to get into. I was able to measure stuff, model the wall studs, niche, and then my equipment. I started building it in sketchup, and postitioned things so that I could ensure that they would fit.
