@Phil : I was assuming that there wouldn't be anything particularly dangerous about using them, but don't want to get myself into trouble. I know that sometimes dramatic shifts in color temperature or intensity of light can cause bleaching, and I'd hate to be the cause.I didn't mean fluorescent shop lights.... I actually meant those 500 or 1000W halogen work lights (for outdoor use) and figured they might be bright enough to worry about. I bought a pair at harbor freight for $25 or so for a project once. The light color would not mix well with other HID lights in use in a tank, though.
@Gomojoe: I use Adobe Camera RAW, usually, and then Photoshop. Of course, Adobe just released Photoshop CS5, with Camera Raw 6, which has some seriously improved noise reduction and sharpening, among other things, but I'm just starting to get comfortable with it.
