  1. Why not add a solar skylight tube thing aobve the niche ?

    So, I wasn't crazy about the potential energy consumption of this new hobby. All the pumps, heaters, lights, timers, skimmers.... I saw a post about using a sky light and I thought that it would be a slick place for one. I went up in the attic and verified that I would only have to move some electrical and one beam.     So, I couldn't cut into the wall and start building, but I could plan it out for the next few weeks. I had pictures from then they built my house, and I started to lay it out in autocad, but then I found out about google sketchup. Its a free 3d modeling program that I started to get into.     I had kept a 10 gallon freshwater tank for about 3 years, and decided to get a larger one. My brother told me about how cool his saltwater tank was while he was in college 20 years ago, and I decided to look into it. Meanwhile, my wife told me that instead of keeping the fish tank on the counter in the kictchen, that I ought to get a new one and put it in the art niche about 10 feet away.
