Basic full overview of the system
Over the past few years I have played with many different types of flow for my tank ranging from a few Korillia powerheads to inductors and Tunze streams. More recently I decided to run a tunze stream with a aqua surf that hooked into my Aqua controller jr. Although this made nice flow patterns it just didn't seem to be worth all of the money I had put into the setup. So from then I decided it was time to make the jump to the wavebox or the Votech pumps. The problem I had was the price I mean ...
This is my first saltwater tank set up after having many freshwater tanks down through the years. During September 2009 I went into a new fish store that had opened up a while back looking for something new to spruce up my freshwater tank.Thats when it happened.I noticed that this store had just a very small section of freshwater livestock but five times that amount of saltwater fish. But wait, what else is that? Some of these tanks have no fish at all just corals.I had never seen a live coral ...

This is the tank and stand. I moved it to show it better but it will be against the wall by the foot of the bed. The tank is cube(ish). 36x24x24 I built the stand myself im proud of it. I think it turned out well for my first real attempt.
I'm starting a 40g mixed reef here at work. I'm starting with an All Glass 40g breader (18"x18"x36) and an building an in-tank sump on one end of the tank. You should see this tank in some future videos and images from DA as we'll be using it (when it's ready) to demo our new stuff as we roll it out. Should be a fun project and while it's a step up from my current 20g desk tank, it's a big step down from my 155 that I had at home. I'm excited to get this going!
