    Tank lighting is completed. I have installed my new acrylic LED lighting and power supply mounts. Attachment to the tank was by small oak blocks with stainless bolts and wing nuts for easy removal. The lighting power supply fixture was installed beneath the tank, on the inside of the cabinet. Cables were run with nylon "P" clips and stainless bolts. The lid of the canopy can be opened without getting a face full of light, and the lighting fixture ...

  2. New Acrylic Work

    Thought that I would share the latest from the rebuild. I'm almost done with the acrylic work, and let me tell you, it's been fun to make various components now that I have the skills.

    I needed to mount my lighting fixture to the canopy, and the stands that came with the LED fixture were not suited to my tank. There was also no way to suspend the fixture. I wanted to devise a way to mount the fixture to the canopy, yet not have it attached to the lid. I don't want the fixture shining ...

  3. Any one using radion lighting?

    Ask if anyone is using ecotech radion light on there reef tank, if anyone is which light spectrum is working best for your reef tank?

  4. Algae Help!!!

    Hello all! For lack of better terms I would consider myself a "water nazi". I sample my water at least three times a week to verify everything is at its proper levels. After I test my water, I usually make a trip to my local LFS to make sure my tests are accurate. The last test I conducted yielded these results:

    PH - 8.2
    Salinity 1.025
    Phosphates 0.0
    Nitrates 0.0
    Calcium 500
    Magnesium 1350
    Alkalinity 8.9

    hello fellow reef addicts, i though i would bring you up to speed on my current project.

    i purchased a 125g tank stand and hood used from a lfs i gave 350$ for it and its perfect no scratches and the back isn't tempered
