Hi Folks, Just wondering what people think about internal vs. external return pumps (say, for a 200G system). Anyone have any advice? From what I gather, external pumps are more expensive to start with, but have a longer lifespan and don't add heat to the system. Does the sump have to be drilled in order to use an external sump or can u just use pvc pipes to go up and over the sump wall? I guess doing so would affect the pump pressure/performance, right? Okay, from that pic, the piping on left is the drain. All the fittings on the drain need to be tefloned, clamped and glued? And, on the right is intake from the sump. Pump on bootom right of pic. Does all this need to be clamped, teflon and or glued?
The weekend is coming soon and I will need to go ang get some supplies soon, so some quick questions. 1). VHO- I have 4 VHO's on the system. For the past month, my toilet has been driving me nuts. I replaced the refill mechanism, but once it was full, over the next 5 to 10 minutes it would drain about 1.5" of water, and refill. The only solution to not wasting water was to shut off the water line going to the toilet. Then when it was time to use it again, open the valve, wait for it to fill up, and proceed - then close it down again. It was very very annoying.
