Plumbing

So ive convinced my self my tank just dosent have enough flow.... ive plumbed it with 1/2 cpvc and the pump im using is a via aqua 3300 which does 977 an hr but at 4ft head which is how tall my stand is. There are two returns that go into the tank on either side and the over flow is in the middle. The overflow im using is a is a HOB which does 600 hr, but because of all the right angles I have used in the 1/2 i dont thing there is even 600 going through there. Does anyone have any suggestions ...

The sedra pump on the ASM G3 skimmer is not starting. I removed the skimmer to clean. When I put it back first it ran fine. I stopped to adjust the skimmer placement. I am starting it again it is not starting at all. Any ideas?

I am restarting an old tank and have a question or two. My tank is a 135 flat back hex acrylic aquarium. I have built a pedestal style stand for it which i think will look great once finished (a carpenter buddy of mine is going to skin it for me.) the two corner overflows are rather small like 5" by 5". the manufacturer put in holes in the bottom of the overflows for 1" drains and 3/4" returns. I picked up a used RS-180 today with an Ehiem 1262 pump on it, and it appears that the pump might be bad. I only paid $100 for skimmer and pump so not too upset but hoping it can be fixed. It pumps but not strong enough water will not rise fully up the skimmer body. It only goes to the gate valve adjustment tube. It does not flow out the top of the gate valve with the neck removed and valve opened or closed. Any thoughts?
