    The other night I noticed the bubble trap in my sump was red?! Closer examination revealed it was completely lined with little tube worms with red gills extended. Doesn't show up well, but here's the best photo I could get.

  2. Update on my 150

    ok sorry its been a while since ive been on. taking 5 classes this summer is a pain. So this is my last blog http://www.reefaddicts.com/entry.php/28019-150g-build. since then ive aded a new light and decided to stay with MH for now, you just cant beat the results from growth and coral. New fixture is a lucky find on craigslist, its a 2x250w and 2x54w t5, i paid $500 for it, brand new in the box unopened so i was happy.   3. Got a Galaxea Green

    I unexpectedly bought a Galaxea Green frag today... Left the car at the washing station, 45 minutes queue, went for a walk with the kids and decided to check out an LFS closeby which I hadn't been to in years.

    Well, they had a small Galaxea Grenn frag which looked good and wasn't expensive (R$80 ~ US$40) so I decided to get it. I've got good flow in the tank now, good lighting too, so it should work out.

  5. Photoshopping images - Why I bother

    I got a compliment today regarding one of my recent images, as it was true to life. To me, what I share on the web needs to match as closely to what the eye sees, and I try my best to keep it accurate. A few years ago, I specifically remember a guest standing in front of my reef tank and they said "wow, your corals look like your pictures." I had to laugh, since that should be our goal after all. Still, we often see images of corals that look incredible and wonder why ours don't look as nice. ...
